THE FIRM

For over two decades, banks, financial institutions, funds, and corporates have retained SKR & Associates on the transactions and disputes where the structuring is complex, the regulatory exposure is real.

Judgement over process

The documents are the straightforward part. Clients retain us for the assessment beneath them: whether a security package holds, where an intercreditor arrangement fails under stress, which approval governs the timetable.

Depth across the lifecycle

We are engaged from term sheet to closing opinion, and remain engaged when a transaction is tested in enforcement, insolvency, or arbitration. Advising at both ends sharpens the advice at each.

Reach where it is needed

Three principal offices and a network across India’s commercial jurisdictions provide local law support wherever a client invests, coordinated by counsel who hold the whole matter.

Corporate

We act as transaction counsel and standing adviser to corporates, financial institutions, and sponsors: incorporation and entity structuring, restructuring, M&A and joint ventures, commercial contracting, corporate governance, and FEMA, FDI, and SEBI compliance. The work runs from legal due diligence and transaction structuring through documentation, execution, and post-closing filings. What clients value is not that we close; it is that we tell them what they are taking on before they do.

Disputes

Our litigation and dispute resolution team represents clients before the Supreme Court, High Courts, NCLT/NCLAT, DRT/DRAT, and consumer forum in commercial, corporate, financial, and regulatory disputes. In arbitration, we manage strategy, documentation, applications, and enforcement in both domestic and international forums. We also advise on pre-litigation strategy and dispute avoidance.

Finance

Finance

We advise lenders, borrowers, funds, and financial institutions across the full financing lifecycle of bilateral and syndicated facilities, working capital lines, external commercial borrowings, lease rental discounting, NCD issuances, and securitisation in sectors including private credit, real estate, energy, and infrastructure. We structure, document, clear the regulatory conditions, and issue the closing opinion. Our familiarity with both sides of a facility means we anticipate the counterparty's position rather than react to it.
