Mr. Vedant heads the corporate law department at SKR & Associates. While his expertise lies in banking and finance, his experience spans across various practice areas. He advises Indian and international banks, financial institutions, sponsors, investment funds, and corporates on a broad spectrum of domestic and cross-border transactions. Mr. Vedant also regularly advises clients on general corporate law matters, including corporate structuring/ restructuring, commercial contracts, regulatory advisory, and transaction support.
Mr. Vedant has advised clients across diverse sectors, including renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate, and financial services, and he regularly leads multi-jurisdictional transactions, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and international counsel to drive transactions to completion.
Experience:
- Advised a British multinational universal bank acting as the mandated lead arranger and other lender syndicate members as lender’s counsel in connection with a greenfield project financing of up to INR 2,400 crores to a special purpose vehicle owned by a renewable energy platform for development of a 150 MW (AC) firm and dispatchable renewable energy generation facility in Southern India.
- Advised a Singapore incorporated financial institution and a UK based financial institution in relation to acquisition financing provided to a special purpose vehicle set up by the world’s largest alternative asset manager, by way of issuance of rated, senior, unlisted, secured, redeemable, non-convertible debentures for an aggregate amount of up to INR 1,500 crores.
- Advised a NBFC in connection with a greenfield project financing of up to INR 860 crores being provided to a renewable energy company for development of a 90 MW project (wind + solar + BESS) in Western India.
- Advised an alternative asset investment manager of India’s leading diversified financial services conglomerate and a special purpose vehicle owned by them in connection with lease rental discounting facilities from an Indian PSU of INR 490 crores, including an overdraft facility of INR 25 crores as a sublimit and an additional rupee term loan facility of up to INR 20 crores.
- Advised a private sector bank in relation to a term loan facility of up to INR 350 crores provided to a renewable energy company for construction and development of a 20 MW blended wind and solar project on a group captive basis in Western India.
- Advised a foreign lender and a British multinational universal bank in relation to secured lease rental discounting financing by way of a rupee term loan facility aggregating up to INR 290 crores availed by a prominent real estate and infrastructure development company in Eastern India.
- Advised a NBFC in relation to term loan facilities of up to INR 100 crores to a private company engaged in development, expansion, operation, and maintenance of a private freight terminal in Northern India.
- Advised as Indian law counsel to a lender consortium comprising a leading multinational bank and a Japanese multinational bank in connection with an external commercial borrowing (ECB) facility aggregating up to USD 56.15 million granted to a renewable energy company for an operational 96.8 MW wind power project in Western India.
